What are the symptoms of Plantar fasciitis?

  • Pain under the heel towards the middle of the foot. Many people describe this like walking on a nail or having a stone in the shoe.
  • Often worse in the morning, due to the fascia tightening overnight or after periods of being seated.
  • Pain eases once the foot becomes more flexible but can worsen with long periods of standing or walking or running
  • Pulling the toes upwards towards the knee can be painful as the fascia stretches.
  • Other parts of the foot may become painful as you avoid walking on the heel.
  • Aching under the arch of the foot, especially after walking or standing for long periods.

Heel Spurs may develop with severe cases but are not always associated with plantar fasciitis.
